Work of Sub Committee

Preamble
In the light of recent RAE developments, government and funding council priorities for collaborative research, and the recent establishment of a number of university research centres across universities in Scotland a wide range of research activities are now encompassed within the concepts of adult education, continuing education and lifelong learning. A SUALL research sub committee would be uniquely placed to contribute to policy development, provide a forum for exchange of ideas and debate, and represent relevant lifelong learning research interests at both national and local levels. This would be facilitated by liaison through SUALL and UALL Research Sub Committee and by direct liaison with a large number of agencies including SHEFC, Communities Scotland and the Scottish Lifelong Learning Research Network.
